Gretchen Jones Is Project Runway Winner – She was often referred as Mrs Mean but last night Gretchen Jones was selected as the winner Project Runway season 8 which was broadcast on the Lifetime network.

Gretchen Jones who was at a bad place in her (empty house and empty bank account) managed to beat fan favorite Mondo Guerra and Andy South on Thursday’s big finale which took place at Bryant Park.

Jones used soft and sexy colors in her collection which was considered as “relaxed and easy” to impress the panel which was composed of actress/singer/fashion designer Jessica Simpson and of course Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.

Jones will be going home the grand prize of $100,000 thanks to L’Oréal Paris.
Her collection which was dubbed ‘Running Through Thunder’ will be featured in Marie Claire magazine and she will get a $50,000 technology suite and the opportunity to sell her long earth colored dresses and suites on Piperlime.com.

The winner said after the big announcement was made:

“This is crazy! I needed this so bad in so many ways .”
Jones added:
“Now I truly feel as though I’m supposed to be doing what I’m doing. It’s the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to me.”

In related news some of Guerra’s fans who are upset by the fact that he did not win, have decided to create a fund and give the HIV positive designer $100,000 because they liked his work as a designer and were touched by his life story.

Project Runway Finale

I'm coming to you live, people, from the home of my friends Sara and Jared. I mention this not only because they've been kind enough to host me as I sit here glued to my keyboard eating too many of their Tostitos, but also because their apartment was once featured on Law & Order and Jeremy Sisto totally used one of their hand towels. So I want you to know that I selected a holy place for the scene of this, my first and last ever Project Runway finale live-blog.

I don't know why I never did this before. Of course, I say that now, before I've even started. Maybe I'll understand tonight.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT: If you are not on East Coast time, this entire blog is going to be a spoiler. So read at your own risk.

Also, disclaimer: There will be typos. THERE WILL BE ALL CAPS, ESPECIALLY IF MONDO DOESN'T WIN.
