DALLAS — The Dallas City Council will vote today on whether to approve a $400,000 settlement to resolve a discrimination lawsuit filed by water department employees, The Dallas Morning News reported.
The plaintiffs, who are black, Hispanic and Asian, allege that they were threatened and harassed while employed at the city’s water department and were subjected to more work and higher scrutiny than white employees, the article stated.
“The city has not had an opportunity to review all of the allegations. However, many of the allegations concern specific incidents that are several years old, about which the city took corrective measures regarding these situations at the time the allegations were first reported,” city officials said in a statement.
