Code Maroon, DALLAS, TX (KERA) – Reports of a gunman on the campus of Texas A & M led to a “Code Maroon” alert last week.
About 4 hours, a bus driver reported that a man with a rifle on campus.
Students were alerted and instructed to “shelter in place.”
After an hour block and a half, and the search for Rudder Tower, the “shelter in place” order was lifted. Campus officials say a person with a “replica” gun was identified, and the all clear was sounded.

Once again gas prices Down
Gasoline prices in Texas have fallen for the second consecutive week. The statewide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is and 2.65 – two cents.
Gas prices fell even more in Dallas, to four cents to 2.64 and a gallon. Pump prices in Fort Worth also fell four cents, and 2.62.
Amarillo has the most expensive gas and 2.73 a gallon.
Escape the Dallas Police Official State Hero
A Dallas police officer is downplaying the situation of the heroes who gave.
Dallas police say Officer William Shumpert was northbound on the Turnpike on Wednesday night, when a stalled Cadillac rear-ended. The car came to a retaining wall and burst into flames.
Shumpert officer stopped his patrol car, smashed the driver’s window with his hand, and pulled the driver to safety. He then returned to duty. State Troopers are still investigating the accident.
Officer Shumpert is declining requests for interviews about his act of saving lives.
New service at DFW
Spirit Airlines will begin nonstop service twice a day from DFW Airport to Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas in May.
Airport authorities say, with the addition of the Spirit, DFW travelers can connect to more than 25 cities in the Caribbean and Latin America through Fort Lauderdale, Spirit gateway.
It is estimated that the new flights will Spirit and 120 million annual economic impact in North Texas.
Texas allocates more money for road
The Texas Department of Transportation is receiving $ 135 million to expand the I-35 from downtown Fort Worth, northern U.S. 287.
